BRIT Awards 2017: David Bowie awarded posthumously

New Delhi [India], Feb 23 : David Bowie again proved, work of art is immortal!

The late legendary singer has been named best 'British Male Solo Artist' at this year's Brit Awards, for his 25th and final studio album 'Blackstar.'

Bowie took his last breath on January 10, last year, two days after the release of 'Blackstar.'

The award was accepted by actor Michael C Hall, who starred in the musical 'Lazarus,' written and composed by the 'Hunky Dory' singer and Enda Walsh.

BRITs uploaded Hall's acceptance speech, where he said, "If David Bowie could be here tonight, he probably wouldn't be here tonight."

Adding, "I'm honoured to stand here before you and acknowledge the potency of his work and acknowledge his kindness and generosity and enthusiasm which inspires me to be better man."

Bowie left back nominees like Craig David, Kano, Michael Kiwanuka and Skepta to receive the posthumous award.

Story doesn't end here. He has also been honoured the 'Mastercard British album of the year,' beating fellow nominees- The 1975, Kano , Michael Kiwanuka and Skepta. (ANI)
