Ace comedian Jagathy shifted to Vellore hospital

Kozhikode (Kerala), April 12 - Malayalam comic actor Jagathy Sreekumar, seriously injured in a road accident last month, was Thursday shifted to a Vellore hospital.

The 62-year-old, who was being treated at the MIMS Hospital here, has been flown to Vellore's Christian Medical College and Hospital.

Kerala government chief whip P. C. George, whose son is married to Jagathy's daughter, told IANS that a special air ambulance was brought from Mumbai to fly him to Vellore.

Mumbai, April 12 - Emraan Hashmi, popularly known as Bollywood's serial kisser, has upped his fees and says he wants to play a long innings in the film industry and, therefore, won't quote something "crazy" that would burden a filmmaker.

"See, I have increased my rates, but I won't tell you the exact figure. I think, as an actor, my rate should not burden a film. But I don't want it (fees) to be detrimental to my own career," Emraan told reporters here Wednesday at the launch of the first look of his film "Shanghai".

Afreen died Wednesday of cardiac arrest after suffering grievous head injuries, a dislocated neck, cigarette burns and even bite marks. According to her mother Reshma, a 19-year-old, her husband wanted a male child and was angry at the birth of a girl.

Mumbai, April 11 : Choreographer-turned-director Remo D'Souza is busy with his second directorial venture "ABCD", being shot in 3D. He says working with the technology needs patience as it is time consuming but the end result is superb.

"The process of filming in 3D is exciting but it's time consuming. It takes a lot of time. Stars need a lot of patience to shoot in 3D. But the result is outstanding," Remo told IANS. His first film as a director was "FALTU".

Mumbai, April 10 : Actress-producer Amita Pathak, who will be seen in "Bittoo Boss" along with newcomer Pulkit Samrat, says that the film's script demanded new faces and that no stars are making any special appearances in the movie.

"We just felt that it was not required and getting some established stars would not justify the film. The film demanded fresh faces," Amita, daughter of producer Kumar Mangat, told IANS.

Directed by Supavitra Babul, the film is scheduled to release April 13.
