Latina activist and actress America Ferrera told the Washington crowd: "It's been a heart-wrenching time to be a woman and an immigrant in this country ? a platform of hate and division assumed power yesterday."
"We march today for the moral core of this nation, against which our new president is waging a war."
Los Angeles [US], Jan. 20 : Kanye West has not been invited to perform at Donald Trump's inaugural as 'Ye's music, according to a spokesperson for president-elect's inauguration committee, is not right for the "typically and traditionally American event."
The lineup of performers at Trump's inauguration certainly could be stronger - but his team didn't even bother asking West.
"We haven't asked him," Tom Barrack, chairman of the Presidential Inauguration Committee, told CNN as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

A spokesperson for Kim denied the report, saying: "The story is false. Kanye was at the party."
Los Angeles, Dec 26 : Musician Elton John says he feels devastated with the news of his "beloved friend" George Michael's death.
John, who famously collaborated with Michael for the 1992 hit "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me", posted on Instagram an emotional tribute to his longtime friend, reports tmz.com.
"I am in deep shock. I have lost a beloved friend -- the kindest, most generous soul and a brilliant artist. My heart goes out to his family and all of his fans. George Michael RIP," John posted.
Michael died Sunday at his home in England. He was 53.

The 18-year-old said she didn't see herself following in her older sibling's footsteps until she was scouted at Kate's wedding to Jamie Hince in 2011.

The couple took North to the ballet at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center here ahead of Christmas Day, reports aceshowbiz.com.
Kim wore an oversized red jumper and strappy boots while her rapper husband was dressed in all black. Their three-year-old daughter North West rocked twin top knots and also wore dark ensemble. They were joined by reality TV personality Kourtney Kardashian and daughter Penelope.
