'Shaukeen' to release on November 7

Mumbai: Akshay Kumar and Lisa Haydon-starrer `Shaukeen`, a remake of the 1982 comedy of the same name, is set to release on November 7 this year.

`Shaukeen` also stars veteran actors Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal and Annu Kapoor in lead roles. Kher took to Twitter to share the news.

"Happy to announce the release date of The Shaukeens. It is 7th November. Be ready for this fantasy ride," he tweeted. The film is directed by Abhishek Sharma, who helmed the Ali Zafar-starrer 2010 satire `Tere Bin Laden`.

Mumbai: Surveen Chawla`s first full-fledged Bollywood role in `Hate Story 2` is getting a good response but the actress says she was initially sceptical about doing the film.

Mumbai: Stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma is all set to attend cricketer Yuvraj Singh`s cancer charity event in London.

The 32-year-old batsman, who himself is a cancer survivor, will hold a charity auction to raise money for cancer patients.

Sharma, who will be accompanied by his mother, took to Twitter to confirm his presence.

"Tomorrow flying to London for the charity show of my friend Yuvraj Singh`s cancer foundation "youwecan". Feeling proud to be a part of cause," Sharma tweeted.

Mumbai, May 2 : Bollywood actress and rights activist Celina Jaitley has lent her voice to United Nations' music video to promote LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) rights.

Jaitley, the goodwill ambassador of United Nations' Free and Equal Campaign, made her singing debut by voicing the song for the campaign produced by UN in typical Bollywood song-and-dance style for the first time.

The two and a half minute video called 'The Welcome' calls for recognition and support for LGBT community.

Mumbai, April 22 : After co-directing "Chillar Party" and directing the recently released "Bhoothnath Returns" - both with children at their core - Nitesh Tiwari is getting ready to try his hand at a completely new genre.

"It's just a coincidence that my first two films featured kids in a central roles. My next film would be a complete departure from these two films," Tiwari said.

He is happy that "Bhoothnath Returns", starring Amitabh Bachchan and Parth Bhalerao, has been warmly received by the audiences.

Mumbai, April 17 : Filmmaker Karan Johar, who will be seen acting in his first full-fledged role in "Bombay Velvet", says it was great to work under Anurag Kashyap's direction in the film.

The shooting of the movie is almost over with just a day's shoot left.

"It was great to be directed by Anurag. Most of my scenes are with Ranbir (Kapoor). So, officially he is my favourite co-star and my favourite director is Anurag Kashyap. I don't have any other choice actually," the 41-year-old said here Wednesday at a party thrown by the producers to announce the release date of the film.
