Karachi, Mar 17 : Om Puri recently met Chaudhry Shujaat, the president of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid in Lahore, stating that artistes of both India and Pakistan were playing a major role to bring the two countries closer to each other.

The veteran actor said that windows of the two countries have opened and if the doors between them also unlock then citizens of both India and Pakistan will be able to meet each other more conveniently, Dawn reported.

Islamabad, Dec. 18 : Pakistan-based users of Google reportedly look up for a lot of Indian content like movies and TV shows as revealed by the search giant's year-end list for 2013.

The Pakistan section revealed that the maximum number of overall searches was focused on Indian content and Bollywood in particular.

According to the Express Tribune, 2013 witnessed a great interest in sports by Pakistani users as the top spot went to PTV Sports Live followed by Bollywood blockbusters like Aashiqui 2, Chennai Express and Krrish 3.

The ' Khiladi 786' star added that he feels happy to see Pakistani cinema growing and added that he hopes that it will keep thriving.

'Chennai Express' a big hit in Karachi

Karachi, Aug 15 - The Shahrukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer "Chennai Express" has become a huge hit in Karachi.

The Rohit Shetty directorial movie eclipsed all other releases on Eid day by a big margin in Pakistan, the Dawn newspaper reported Thursday.

"Being Pakistanis, we like to promote our films. Therefore, we ran 'Ishq Khuda' for two days but it didn't attract sufficient audiences," said Aziz Khan, general manager of Capri cinema.

"On the other hand, 'Chennai Express' is doing a roaring business from the first show."

New Delhi/Islamabad, Jan 29 - Bollwyood star Shah Rukh Khan was Tuesday at the centre of the latest round of sparring between two often uneasy neighbours with Pakistan's minister Rehman Malik's comment that India should provide the actor security prompting a sharp rebuke from New Delhi that Islamabad should mind its own 'minorities'.

Malik said in Islamabad that the Indian government should provide security to Shah Rukh, in the thick of a controversy over his remarks on being a Muslim that led to Jamaat-ud Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed saying the star could move to Pakistan.

Islamabad, Nov 29 - Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah has arrived in Lahore to participate in a programme, a media report said Thursday.

Shah along with his family Wednesday arrived in Lahore, reported the News International.

"Why would I come to Pakistan if I had no 'Aman ki Asha' (desire for peace)?" Shah told the media outside the Allama Iqbal International Airport.

He said that he would stay in Pakistan for a week and would perform in a programme scheduled to be held in Lahore Dec 1 and 2.

The news report did not elaborate on the type of programme. (IANS)

Pakistani singer Ghulam Ali's house robbed

Islamabad, Oct 16 - Noted Pakistani ghazal singer Ghulam Ali's house in Lahore was robbed of gold ornaments and cash worth Rs. 700,000, a media report said Tuesday.

According to the singer's brother, Ashiq Ali, four gunmen barged into the house in Defence Block J Monday night and got away with the valuables, Geo TV reported.

The robbers ransacked the family room for about one and a half hours, and there after used a white car to flee, Ali said. (IANS)
