Los Angeles [USA], Feb. 16 : While we are still unsure about the future of hit TV-series 'Sherlock', actor Benedict Cumberbatch has reaffirmed his loyalty with BBC and Masterpiece by boarding their upcoming series, ' The Child In Time'.
The project is an adaptation of Ian McEwan's novel of the same name and ' Sherlock' fame is all set to both star and be the executive producer, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
"I read the novel years ago and it stayed with me profound, beautiful and very moving. Only Ian McEwan could write about loss with such telling honesty," he says.
London [U.K], Feb. 15 : Benedict Cumberbatch feels 'honoured' as his 'Sherlock' has topped the worldwide poll of most popular BBC television characters.
Cumberbatch said, "I'm honoured to hear that my portrayal of Sherlock has been internationally recognised as viewers' favourite BBC TV character," reports the Mirror.
Adding, "Who would have thought a high-functioning sociopath could be so popular with people all over the world?".

The lowest in its history and fewer than 'Antiques Roadshow' or 'Countryfile', the figure was a marked slump from New Year's Day, when 8.1 million Britons tuned into the popular detective series, reports the Daily Mail.
And an even bigger fall from the series' height in 2014, when nearly 13 million tuned in to see how Benedict Cumberbatch's character survived an apparently fatal fall.
Washington D.C. [USA], Dec. 24 : After bulking up for 'Doctor Strange', Benedict Cumberbatch recently admitted that he had to let go of the "athletic" body in order to get back with his Sherlock Holmes' character.
Explaining that he was not in "Sherlock shape", the 40-year-old British star told the press, "I was in Doctor Strange shape so I was quite big! I was chunky - in a healthy way, an athletic way - and he's not necessarily, Sherlock," reports digitalspy.com.

Reports suggest that the happy couple announced the news on the red carpet at the premiere.
