Johannesburg, Dec. 28 - J.J. Abrams revealed that he regrets on not agreeing to direct ' Star Wars: Episode VIII.'

The 49-year-old director, whose 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' was recently released, has admitted that he is gutted about not agreeing to helm the next installment of the franchise, reports News24.com.

Abrams' close friend Greg Grunberg said in an interview, "Abrams read it and said something he never, ever says."

Abrams said that it's so good that he wishes he was making it, told Grunberg.

Washington, Feb 19 : J. J. Abrams's production company Bad Robot is making a movie on Thomas Edison under the banner of Paramount Pictures, it has been reported.

Bad Robot with productions like 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' will be making a movie on Thomas Edison's life including his prolific inventions and his adversaries Westinghouse and Nikolai Tesla, the Verge reported.

Edison has accumulated more than 1000 patents in the United States and over 2,000 worldwide, including ones for the electric lamp and the phonograph.

The seventh instalment of the sci-fi saga is set about 30 years after the events of ' Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi'.
