Kendrick Lamar sued for illegally sampling Bill Withers

Los Angeles, April 15 : Grammy Award-winning rapper has been sued for illegally sampling a song by musician Bill Withers.

Mattie Music Group, a music company which says it owns the rights to Withers' "Don't you want to stay", has filed a lawsuit against the rapper, claiming he sampled the veteran singer's 1975 song without their permission on "I do this" off his 2009 eponymous EP, reports tmz. com.

Auckland, March 19 : Grammy Award-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar, who is here to headline the Auckland City Limits Music Festival, took his first-ever helicopter ride on a visit to the Waiheke Island in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand.

Lamar began his Auckland adventure with a helicopter flight across Auckland's Waitemata Harbour to the Waiheke Island.

"What a way to see Auckland, I've been able to take my first ever helicopter ride and check out this stunning city from the sky," Lamar said in a statement.

Washington D. C., Feb. 16 : After getting nominated in 11 categories, Kendrick Lamar took home his first Grammy. He won the award for the Best Rap Album for his hit album, ' To Pimp a Butterfly.'

The 28-year-old rapper beat out J. Cole's '2014 Forest Hills Drive,' Nicki Minaj's 'The Pinkprint,' Dr. Dre's 'Compton' and Drake's 'If You're Reading This It's Too Late' to win the Grammy Award, reports E! Online.

Lamar also received a shoutout from President Obama on Twitter after his victory.

Los Angeles - Rapper Kendrick Lamar has unveiled the artwork of his forthcoming album.

The 'Compton' rapper took to Instagram to share a black-and-white image showing a group of shirtless men posing in front of a building resembling the White House while holding dollar bills, reported Aceshowbiz.

The album is set to be released on March 23 via Aftermath/Interscope. It comes as a follow-up to 2012's 'good kid, m.A.A.D city', which was nominated for several awards at the 2014 Grammys, including Best Rap Album and the coveted Album of the Year. PTI
