First photos from 'The Revenant' released

Los Angeles - First photos from Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu-directed movie 'The Revenant', starring Leonardo DiCaprio, are out.

The images feature the 40-year-old actor looking scruffy while wielding a gun, reported Entertainment Weekly.

The movie tells the story of DiCaprio's fur trapper character named Hugh Glass who is mauled by a Grizzly bear in the 1800s.

Washington, Oct 3 - Leonardo DiCaprio has reportedly left the biopic project of Steve Jobs and is instead engaged in filming for 'The Revenant'.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, sources revealed that the 'Inception' star, who was roped in for Danny Boyle's untitled biopic on Jobs, plans to take a lengthy break from acting after filming 'The Revenant'.

The biopic produced by Sony Pictures may now approach Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck or Bradley Cooper for the lead role. (ANI)

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the story revolves around on a 19th century fur trapped, who is mauled by a grizzly bear and left for dead, but he survives and embarks on a revenge mission against the people who robbed and betrayed him.

The film will start production on September 22, 2014, and may release in 2015.
