Los Angeles, Dec 21 : Late singer Prince reportedly owed $600,000 to his divorce lawyer.

Prince passed away at the age of 57 on April 21 earlier this year, but Cousins Law Firm in West Palm Beach, Florida, has filed a claim with his estate over a $599,735.63 bill from his and Manuela Testolini's 2006 divorce, reports tmz.com.

Lawyer Patrick Cousins says he had agreed with Prince that the singer did not have to pay him until all the loose ends of the case were tied up. He said he wrapped up everything on April 1, 20 days before Prince's sudden death.

Los Angeles, Aug 3 : Legal bills for sorting out late pop icon Prince's estate have hit almost $2 million, according to figures submitted to court by the estate's special administrators.

The special administrator overseeing the affairs of Prince -- who died from an accidental overdose in April without leaving a will -- is seeking permission from the court to pay several law firms for work, including a huge $1.9 million for just one company, the Stinson Leonard Street firm, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Minneapolis: A Minnesota judge overseeing Prince's estate narrowed down the wide pool of potential heirs for the late superstar's fortune today, ruling out nearly 30 claimants while ordering genetic testing for six purported family members.

Carver County Judge Kevin Eide's order requires genetic testing for Prince's sister, Tyka Nelson, plus three half-siblings: Sharon Nelson, Norrine Nelson and John Nelson. Ken Abdo, the attorney for the three half-siblings declined to comment.

Tyka Nelson's attorney did not immediately return a voicemail.

Los Angeles: Prince's family members are planning a massive tribute concert to the late star in his native Minnesota in October.

The "Purple Rain" star's siblings are organising the first official event in honour of the music icon on October 13 at the US Bank Stadium in his hometown of Minneapolis, reported ABC news.

The late icon's family said that they are "excited for the opportunity to bring everyone together for the official family celebration of Prince's life, music and legacy, and there is no better place to do it than his hometown of Minneapolis."

Los Angeles, June 26 : Secretly recorded tapes by late popstar Michael Jackson have revealed that he was jealous of the late "Purple Rain" singer Prince and despised him.

In transcripts of the recording obtained, Jackson refers to Prince -- who passed away in May -- as "nasty" and "mean", reports dailymail.co.uk.

"I don't like to be compared to Prince at all," he said in a recording.

"I have proven myself since I was real little. It's not fair. He feels like I'm his opponent. I hope he changes because boy, he's gonna get hurt. He's the type that might commit suicide or something.

Los Angeles, June 23 : Prince "fought for his life" after he took an overdose, according to his friend and collaborator Judith Hill, who says she was with him in the plane which made an emergency landing just six days before his death.

Hill said that Prince, who died in April, was very co-operative after he overdosed on the highly-addictive drug Percocet, which contains acetaminophen and oxycodone, while flying back to his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota only days prior to his death, reports nytimes.com.
