Angeles: Hollywood star Robert De Niro has revealed that his father was gay and he discovered that years after his parents separated when he was a toddler.

His father was an abstract expressionist painter who died in 1993, reportedly. De Niro, 70, honoured his father in the documentary `Remembering the Artist: Robert De Niro Sr`, premiering on June 9.

"He never told me. He was very private about it. He was loving and affectionate. But he wasn`t the kind of dad who played baseball. He liked to take me to the movies on 42nd Street: `King Kong`, `Beauty and the Beast`," De Niro said.

Washington, May 28 : Robert De Niro will be seen opposite Robert Pattinson in upcoming heist action-thriller 'Idol's Eye'.

According to the Hollywood reporter, the film will be helmed by French filmmaker and 'Clouds of Sils Maria' director Olivier Assayas, with Benaroya Pictures coming aboard to finance and produce.

Though the plot details have not yet been revealed, the film will begin shooting in October in Chicago and Toronto.

The Hollywood legend shared his views at the 20th anniversary celebration of his directorial debut - “A Bronx Tale” - at Village East Cinema Monday.

“I don’t know if I will ever do another movie,” showbizspy. com quoted De Niro as saying.

Los Angeles, Feb 21 - Veteran actor Robert De Niro says mob movie "The Irishman" is still in works and he is looking forward to the project.

The 70-year-old was supposed to portray real-life union official-turned-mafia hitman Frank 'The Irishman' Sheeran in the biopic back in 2010 and the shooting was expected to start the following year.

The movie has not gone on floors yet, but De Niro still hopes to reunite with director Martin Scorsese and co-stars Al Pacino and Joe Pesci, reports femalefirst. co. uk.

Bale sports a podgy, balding look in the film.

When De Niro met the entire cast, he asked director David O. Russell who the overweight guy was.

Mumbai, Nov 13 - Hollywood star Robert De Niro, who visited Indian actor Anupam Kher's acting school here during his visit, even gorged on some tradition Kashmiri dishes, prepared by Kher's mother.

"My mother and aunt prepared a traditional Kashmiri meal for Robert. He seemed to enjoy it without reservations," said Anupam.

De Niro and Kher worked together in Hollywood film "Silver Linings Playbook". The international star, who was in the country for the THiNK fest in Goa. He made an impromptu unscheduled visit to Mumbai Sunday purely on Anupam’s request.
