Art director Ashish Lakhia passes away

Mumbai, March 13 - Ashish Lakhia, one of the most talented art directors known for his work in "Mirch Masala" and "Maya Memsahib", has died.

Ashish passed away in Ahmedabad Sunday of multiple organ failure that began with his lung giving way. Other complications followed. He was 49.

He worked with his mother Meera Lakhia. His brother Aditya Lakhia, known for playing Kachra in "Lagaan", said that their parents have taken his death very badly.
