Beyonce to offer college scholarships for female students

New York [U.S.], Apr. 26 : In honor of the one-year anniversary of her iconic "Lemonade" album, pop star Beyonce has announced four college scholarships.

"Lemonade" won a Peabody Award last week, and Beyonce bagged two Grammys for phenomenal work in February.

The Formation Scholars program will give awards to "young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious and confident," according to the announcement.

The pop-sensation took to Instagram and shared new photos of her, showcasing her baby bump.

Some of the photos were presented in a slideshow, set to the The Isley Brothers' 1972 song " Pop That Thang."

In the photos, the 35-year-old-singer can be seen in an off-the-shoulder skintight indigo gown.

Extending her support to the LGBTQ students, Queen Bey shared a link of GLSEN.org, an organisation that advocates for LBGTQ students, on her official Facenook page.

She wrote alongside, "#LGBTQ students need to know we support them. Share your support to #protecttransyouth at glsen.org/100days & put #KindnessInAction GLSEN."

Beyonce who was all set to headline this year's Coachella music festival in April, has pulled out of the gig, following the advice of her medical team, reports The Guardian.

The 35 year-old, has been advised by the doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule, according to a joint statement released by the singer's management team and Goldenvoice and Parkwood, the festival's promotion team.

"No, I don't think there's a race problem at all," Portnow told Pitchfork as reported by People Magazine.

"Remember, this is a peer-voted award. So when we say the Grammys, it's not a corporate entity - it's the 14,000 members of the Academy," he said.
