Los Angeles: Veteran actress Judi Dench, who is suffering from macular degeneration that can lead to blindnessshe, says she has the typeface enlarged so that she can read scripts.

"So, if six of us were coming in to read a sonnet they'd all have one piece of paper and I'd have two or three," she said.

"They'd think, 'why does she have a bigger part?' when it's all the same!," she added.

The 'Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' actress finds the condition can be restricting when she takes part in her favourite pastime -- painting, reported People magazine.

London: "The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" star Judi Dench has no plans to give up work anytime soon.

The 80-year-old actress said she does not allow the word "old" to be used in her house, reported Daily Telegraph.

"I don't want any of those old words. I like 'enthusiastic' and I like the word 'cut' because that means you've finished the shot," she said.

Dench's latest film "The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel", is a sequel to 2012's surprise hit movie.

London, Nov 1 - Judi Dench and Emma Watson were honored with the acclaimed at the Britannia Awards by Bafta in Los Angeles recently.

The 79-year-old veteran actress, who was handed the worldwide contribution award by Dustin Hoffman, said she was "overwhelmed" to have received the accolade, which was named after 'James Bond' producer Albert "Cubby" Broccoli, the BBC reported.

She added that though she didn't know Broccoli, she had done Bond films for 17 years, and was "very proud" that she had something in his name.

Los Angeles, Oct 27 : Actress Dame Judi Dench, who recently had a knee replacement operation, forced herself to recover from it soon so that she could attend the premiere of her new movie "Philomena".

The 78-year-old had undergone surgery Sep 13 after suffering from chronic pain for several years. She walked the red carpet within six weeks of her operation, reports contactmusic. com.

"The scars from here to here, there to there. I have a completely new knee now. It's briliant," Britain's Daily Mirror quoted Dench as saying.
