Konkona Sen Sharma helping me to learn Anglo-Indian accent: Kalki Koechlin

New Delhi - Kalki Koechlin is happy that she is a part of Konkona Sen Sharma's debut directorial project 'A Death In The Gunj', a coming-of-age film. Kalki, who is playing a Kolkata based Anglo-Indian, said the 'Talvar' star is extremely hard-working and she is managing everything well on the sets.

"It is her first film as a director. We have started shooting. Konkana is working really hard on everything from characters to costumes. She is also helping me a lot with the accent as I am playing an Anglo-Indian from Kolkata," Kalki told PTI.

New Delhi, Nov. 17 - Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin, who has always voiced her opinion on feminism, recently said it is really funny to see women fighting against other women and claiming that they are the real feminists.

While taking about the upcoming Nicholas Kharkongor directorial, 'Mantra,' wherein she will be seen as Rajat Kapoor's rebellious daughter, the 31-year-old actress told ANI that she thinks feminism is misunderstood in India.

New Delhi, July 31 : Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin, who believes in making her fashion her reflection, says she would love to do fairytale movies if given a chance but in real, the actress does not believe in them.

The 31-year-old actress said, "I would love to do a fairytale movie. I have grown up watching Little Mermaid and there are so many of them that I really like, for example- The red shoes. I have even co-written a play along with Prashant Prakash, called 'Skeleton Woman' but personally I do not believe in them."

'Margarita...' bags best feature film at Washington fest

Mumbai: Kalki Koechlin-starrer disability drama "Margarita With A Straw" has bagged the best feature film honour at the recently concluded Washington, DC International Film festival.

Kalki, 31, who plays a cerebral palsy patient in the Sonali Bose-directed film, took to Twitter to share the news.

"And in Filmfest DC look who won best feature film! http//filmfestdc Org/ #MargaritaWithAStraw," Kalki tweeted.

Before its release on April 17, the film made its world premiere at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

New Delhi, Apr 13 : Kalki Koechlin decided to become an actor as she felt it was a job she would not get bored off. Her fans aren't complaining though. The actress is excited about her upcoming film 'Margarita with a Straw' where she will be seen portraying the role of 'Laila', a teenager with raging hormones, who happens to be in a wheelchair and falls in love with a girl.

To come close to the character with cerebral palsy, Koechlin put in a lot for preparations and spent time with filmmaker Shonali Bose's cousin, Malini Chib, to get the nuances of her character right.
