Los Angeles, May 31 - Singers Nicky Minaj and Mariah Carey have quit as judges of TV show “American Idol”.

Carey, 43, has quit the show in order to undertake a world tour following the success of her latest single "Beautiful" and Minaj, 30, also wants to focus on her music and confirmed her first season on the show will also be her last, reports femalefirst. co. uk.

Carey retweeted a message from her PR representatives, which read: "W/ global success of "#Beautiful" @MariahCarey confirms world tour & says goodbye 2 Idol http://mariahcarey.com."

Los Angeles, April 25 : There were reports that "American Idol" producers and Fox executives were planning to replace judge Mariah Carey with Jennifer Lopez to boost the show's ratings. But the makers says it is not true.

Sources told hollywoodreporter. com that Carey threatened legal action when the producers of the singing reality show and Fox planned to replace her.

"This is just another ridiculous Idol judge rumour, likely started by talks of Jennifer performing on the finale," a Fox spokeswoman said.

Los Angeles, Jan 16 - Singer Mariah Carey, the mother of 20-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, is thoroughly enjoying motherhood.

"Every moment is incredible and a blessing. I was performing in Sydney and I brought them (twins) out on stage because I want them to have these experiences. "So long as she's honest and speaks from the heart and is herself then I think she'll be fine... I think that's what anybody who sits in that chair has to do," Lopez said on a US entertainment show.

The 43-year-old says she always spoke to people, the way she wants to be treated.

London, Aug 12 - Singer Mariah Carey will create two nail polish collections, and is excited to begin work on them.

Carey has signed a deal with OPI Products Inc for the venture, and is upbeat as she has always loved doing manicures, reports femalefirst. co. uk.

"I actually went to beauty school in 11th grade, so I could have something to fall back on, so believe me, I've done my share of manicures as well as getting them," said Carey.
