Barcelona, May 3 - Spanish fashion house Victorio & Lucchino unveiled a collection of bridal gowns at the Pasarela Gaudi Novia show in Barcelona with removable segments that allow them to be used as a party dress after the ceremony.

The apparently more austere 2014 Victorio & Lucchino collection is aimed at brides in cold countries and those who want to party until the early hours, enjoying the advantage of having two dresses in one.

Malaga (Spain), April 17 - Popular Spanish singer Isabel Pantoja was sentenced Tuesday to two years in prison for money laundering, but as a first-time offender she may be able to avoid jail time.

In the same case, Pantoja's former boyfriend, former Marbella Mayor Julian Munoz, was sentenced to seven years, while the latter's ex-wife, Maite Zaldivar, received a sentence of three years and three months.

The court also imposed millions in fines.

Madrid, April 13 - The big winner in Spain's Goya film awards, "Blancanieves", has been nominated for Mexico's Ariel prize in the category of best Ibero-American picture.

Pablo Berger's silent, black-and-white version of the Snow White tale features Mexican actor Daniel Gimenez Cacho in the leading role and is scheduled to open in Mexico June 21.

"Blancanieves" will vie with Chile's "No" and the Ecuadorian feature "Pescador" for the Ariel for best Ibero-American film.

Last year's award went to Spain's "Pa negre", the fifth Spanish film to snag the Ariel.

Seville (Spain), April 11 - Sweden's Spotify, a music streaming service that gives users access to millions of songs, is looking at expanding across the Americas, the company's managing director in Spain, Javier Gayoso, said.

Spotify already operates in the US and will soon launch in Mexico, the executive said.

Gayoso, who participated in a conference on digital marketing and e-commerce in the southern Spanish city of Seville, told EFE that the company's goal was to "grow, grow and grow".

"I fixed on several people to compose the tone and appearance of Solis," the Oscar-winning actor said at a press conference in Madrid with the rest of the team behind the film, which opens in Spain this Friday.

Madrid, April 9 - Spanish actress and singer Sara Montiel died Monday at her home in Madrid, apparently of natural causes, emergency services officials told EFE. She was 85.

An ambulance from Madrid emergency services rushed to attend the artist, but paramedics could do nothing to save her life.

Montiel was one of Spain's internationally renowned actresses and singers when Hollywood scarcely knew the Spanish movie industry existed.

Madrid, Feb 21 - The Miss Spain Pageant has filed for bankruptcy protection from its creditors, authorities said.

The case is being handled by a bankruptcy court in Madrid, where the bankruptcy petition was filed Feb 7.

The bankruptcy judge overseeing the case ordered the debtor's assets seized and appointed a receiver.

The organizer of the Miss Spain beauty pageant has been experiencing financial difficulties for some time and lost the right to participate in the last Miss Universe pageant.
